So this post is really merely a vent. Having said that you may just want to skip it:) However, it will make me feel better just to write these few sentences.
Over this last weekend we were told that our only Las Vegas supporting church is no longer supporting us. To be honest, crushing. The money of course will be missed but mostly we find it emotionally discouraging. It is yet another blow of discouragement from a church. Don't get me wrong some churches do things here and there and not all churches have we found discouraging, but by and large they are mostly discouraging. It's the lack of financial support, the lack of answered phone calls and visits, the lack of any effort really. I had better stop before I dig a deeper hole for myself. God has called us to work with the church here in Las Vegas and to serve them in leading them into the world of foster care, the U.S. orphans close to God's heart. So though it may be like pulling teeth onward we must go....God help me.
Hopefully I haven't offended anyone, it's just where I am at.

So sorry you guys. That's SO tough when supporters drop off, for whatever reason. I pray that God will send some specific encouragement your way soon!

God came to heal and save the broken and the lost, and you find those concentrated in churches! If God is only good, and uses the gentlest means possible to get our attention and woo us into a love relationship with Him, than I am thinking all his harsh words toward Pharisees were His most loving wake-up call to them... sadly, it seems like churches today need that too. Sick people know they need a doctor - people who think they are okay want to stay that way. I think so many people/churches are afraid, possibly of their own brokenness and limitations. All the more reason they need to be reached as much as the hurting and lost outside the church. I'm so sorry for your discouragement. We will be praying for support to fill in those gaps, both financially and relationally/emotionally. You guys are doing an incredible thing by taking Scripture seriously:o).
