In danger

Read a harrowing story of a foster family who also adopted several children...it was a bit of a disturbing story, well intense really. The name of the book is 'An Unlit Path'. The nice part is that it is very down to earth. Here's a part of the book that realllly rang home for me. So nice to hear someone else say it.

"One of the biggest misconceptions of Christianity is that if we do God's work with a humble and willing heart and all for His glory, He will protect us. I am not sure why I started believing that, it is certainly not scriptural. Scripture teaches us we will be mocked and ridiculed for the sake of our faith. Why had I overlooked the martyrs John the Baptist, the apostles, even Job? ....The truth is that the closer we are to God and the more willing we are to do His work, the more danger we are in." - Deborah L. Hannah

2 Timothy 3:12 "And indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."

Quite a yardstick for your walk, isn't it?

Isn't that the truth?! I've had a lot of people tell me, "well, you're a Christian, these things shouldn't happen to you..." Ohhhh, not true, my friend. The Father never promised us a journey with no trials and tribulations. He promised that we would never be alone. Isn't it funny that people think we should be without troubles? It would be nice...but it wouldn't be life in the flesh. God bless you!
